• Hello!

Lydia has two goals in life: take good photos and be a good person!

Based in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood, Lydia is a full-time photographer with 25+ years of experience and a well-earned reputation for making even the most camera-shy humans feel like old friends.

Based in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood, Lydia is a full-time photographer with a background in both the arts and caregiving, which means she’s equal parts soft and sharp: calm under pressure, weirdly intuitive, and totally unfazed by chaos, meltdowns, or wardrobe malfunctions. She will absolutely fix your collar and talk you off an emotional ledge while adjusting her camera settings.

Her style is less “say cheese” and more “be your weird, wonderful self—I’ve got you.” She’s a calm presence in the chaos, a watcher of realness, and a documentarian of both the wild and the tender. Whether you’re a tired parent, an awkward couple, or just someone trying to hold it together, she’ll meet you where you are—and get the shot without making it weird.

When she’s not behind the lens, you’ll find her roller skating in circles, holiday decorating like her life depends on it, or singing her heart out to living room karaoke (no audience necessary). She dabbles in “granny hobbies,” has a minor estate sale addiction, and maintains an open-door policy for stray animals, both literal and metaphorical. She runs on coffee, cheese, dry shampoo, and an unkillable creative instinct.

Lydia doesn’t just take photos—she pays attention. She shows up, stays quiet when it counts, and catches the stuff you didn’t realize mattered until later. It’s not about perfect poses or fake smiles. It’s about making images that actually feel like you.

I've been recognized with multiple ParentMap Golden Teddy Awards, hold an AA with honors from The Art Institute of Seattle, and have received scholarships from the Glazer’s, Bainbridge Arts & Humanities Council and Rotary Club. As a member of Nikon Professional Services, and formerly of the Professional Photographers of America, I've partnered with Playfish Media, interned at Affinity Photography, and continue to work as a second photographer for IJPhoto and JaneG. With countless headshot, senior, family, event, and wedding clients—and a strong record of community sponsorships and donations—I’m proud to offer both artistic excellence and deep-rooted community engagement in every session.

Lydia Brewer Photography always has and always will be a safe space for everyone—regardless of immigration status, gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation.
I take pride in having a business motto geared only towards “being a good person and creating great images.” It is my intention to cultivate a climate of love and acceptance.
